NDC Minority Probes Adwoa Safo Presence In Parliament

Adwoa Safo in Parliament on 30th November, 2021

Minority of the opposition National Democratic Congress (SMS) has initiated investigation to unravel Sarah Adwoa Safo, Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Constituency who voted on the floor of Parliament Tuesday November 30, 2021 for the approval of the 2022 Budget and Economic Policy of Government presented Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

According to the NDC Minority, they strongly suspect the female personality who voted was not the Minister of Gender and Social Protection and the MP.

There is seemingly confusion among members of the NDC and their fanatics on social media that the woman who came to vote for the approval of the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government was not Adwoa Safo.

Speaking on Joy Super Morning Show (SMS) Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated a day after the voting that the minority side is investigating a case of impersonation in the case of Adwoa Safo on the floor yesterday.

He said they suspect the lady who came to the floor was not Adwoa safo.

” i must state on record that following pictures and videos we’re reviewing this morning, it’s becoming quite apparent to us that the maybe a case of impersonation that a lady presented as Adwoa Safo, it is begining to appear that she may not be the one and it’s a matter that we are investigating seriously and we’re probing further.

“I am sure in the subsequent hours, we’ll make pur decision and what we’ll like to do clear on the matter.

“We’re reviewing footages and spoken to some of your colleagues in the media who were not allowed to come close to that person to interview her. So whoever that person, we’ll get to the buttom. We’re taking a very serious view on that and it will be the basis for some enquiry moving forward,” Ablakwa stated on the morning radio program.

NDC’s Adwoa Safo

This follows the MP absent from parliament for sometime.

She was said to have however arrived in the country to resume parliamentary duties after long leave of absence from Parliament for personal reasons.

Somewhere in October, 2021, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo extended the leave of absence from her Ministry as Gender and Social Protection Minister.

A statement signed by the Director of Communication at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin in a communique stated that Adwoa Safo was supposed to have ended August 31, 2021.

“In her absence and until further notice, President Akufo-Addo has directed the Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah to act as caretaker Minister for Gender and Social Protection,” according to the statement.
