NDC ‘Warmonger’ Granted Bail

Razak Koampa Avoliya

RAZAK KOAMPA Avoliya, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser for Suame, has finally been granted bail.

The Asokwa Circuit Court yesterday granted him a GH¢50,000 bail.

The suspect is expected to reappear before the same court on March 9, 2023.

Avoliya, who has been in the news in recent times, was hauled to the court on a charge of ‘Offensive Conduct’.

The NDC official, allegedly, incited his party members to kill and win political power in 2024 if it becomes necessary, leading to his arrest.

During his maiden appearance in court last week, Avoliya’s appeal for bail was rejected, as the court remanded him into police custody.

But on his second appearance before the court yesterday, the court granted the wish of the lawyers of Avoliya, as it granted their client bail.

As part of the bail conditions, Avoliya, who pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him, would present two sureties.

Meanwhile, as expected, scores of charged NDC supporters in Kumasi, trooped to the court premises to support Avoliya.

But the NDC supporters could not cause trouble because of the presence of heavily armed policemen at the court premises.
