Madam Prempeh and Mankraho chief Nana Adjei Ababio jointly cut tape to commission the school block
Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Freda Akosua Prempeh, has commissioned a 6-unit classroom block in Mankraho, a community in the Ahafo Region.
The new classroom forms part of the MP’s transformational agenda aimed at providing basic quality education and logistics to the people of Tano North.
Madam Freda in her speech emphasised her passion for child education in her constituency.
“Children are the future of this nation. Investing in their education is a step in the right direction,” she said.
Deputy District Director of Education for the Tano North Municipality, Ekow Dankwa thanked the government and the MP for their relentless efforts to provide school infrastructure for Tano North pupils and teachers.
Head teacher of the school, Salifu Yakubu, on his part said the new school block has come as an enormous relief to the school.
This is because the old structure built in 1955 was dilapidated adding, ‘The slightest sign of rain we have to close for the day because the structure was a death trap and could fall on the pupils’.
He believes that with the new classroom block, teachers and pupils will be motivated to work harder than before to improve teaching and learning.
