New Aplaku Marshallans support Weija Leprosarium

COUNCIL 109 and Court 105, New Aplaku of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, have donated assorted items worth GH¢15,000 to the inmates of the Weija Leprosarium.

The presentation of the items, which took place on June 2, 2018, was done in collaboration with the Marshallan Relief and Development Services (MAREDES), the non-governmental wing of the Knights and of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall.

The items included medical consumables, rice, gari, cooking oil, milk, soap, and sugar.

Present at the event were officials of KLM and MAREDES such as the Regional Grand Knight, Worthy Brother Evaristus Kuatsinu, Regional Noble Lady, Sis. Doris Bramson,the Executive Director of MAREDES, Sir Knight Bro. Derx Baffour, the Grand Knight of Council 109, Brother Clarence Blay, and the Noble Lady of Court 105, Sis. Sarah Accam.

The administrator of the Weija Leprosarium, Worthy Bro George Quansah and the prefect of the facility, Ms Gladys Adubia, received the items on behalf of the inhabitants.

Touching lives

Bro Clarence Blay said the donation formed part of the society’s commitment to touch lives and make an impact on the society as a whole.

For his part, Sir Knight Bro Baffour underscored the need for all members of the society to remain committed and focused on initiatives that would promote education and development.

He said sharing and caring for the needy formed the core part of Jesus’ mission on earth and that ought to be an integral part of the lives of Christians.
