New Okaff Wins Pan African Award

New Okaff Industries Limited, producers of A.F. Confidence Insecticide, A.F. Anti-Snake Laver Repellent and other products, has been honoured with the “Greatest Science Research Group of The Contemporary Era” Award by the Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce and Administration (BORGCA).

The local company’s A.F. Confidence Insecticide was adjudged the “Best Indigenous Cocoa Insecticide Product Discovered in Recent Times.”

The BORGCA awards are among of initiatives to boost businesses and companies across the African continent.

BORGCA, according to the organisers, is determined to recognize and promote individuals, companies and institutions in Ghana, regarding the PAN AFRICAN awards schemes.

“Our research, assessment and selection committees have seriously considered some selected individual and corporate organizations under our watch to unveil their excellent performance to the general public. It is necessary for us as an institution to disclose the reasons for which we awarded them,” according to the organizers.

Pan African Enterprise and Achievers’ Honorary Award 2017 was held in Accra at the latter part of December at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City.

According to the organisers of the awards, New Okaff Industries Limited is one of the few companies considered under its watch since 2009 and had been monitoring its products over the years.

“Following years of studying the two products of the company, we conclusively realised through several methods and approaches that both products have high economic relief for agricultural challenges facing farmers in Africa.”

BORGCA underscored, “Four regions were selected in Ghana for testing processes of the A.F. Confidence Insecticide and we could boldly accept the efficacies to be most effective, as predicted and claimed by the various farmers across our reach.”

According to the bureau, the product had gone through several scientific tests to become the most accepted organic product by most farmers.

It continued that the 2012, 2016 and 2017 National Best Farmers are all beneficiaries of the A.F. Confidence Insecticide and bear testimonies of the product, which is the first ever cocoa insecticide produced in Africa.

BORGCA indicated, “The A.F. Confidence Insecticide is multipurpose organic product for all farm produce which the research team could vividly defend the potency and efficacy.

“The research team par assessment by the various farms selected, found it most effective product for boosting agric-economy to foresee growth and development in the coming years.”

It stressed that as Ghana is hopeful of foreseeing better economic improvement through the agricultural sector, it was “hopeful that all farmers would endeavour to be witnesses and recommend A.F. Confidence Insecticide to the world at large.”

The President of BORGCA, Professor Victor Kwabena Yankah, delivering the keynote address at the awards ceremony, called for a conscious effort that would help the nation grow from ‘within’ rather than import “everything under the sun.”

He maintained, “Our culture makes provision for us to develop, from within – that is, our development strategies could be based on our culture, not on someone else’s model.”

Other award winners were Sidalco Group of Companies, CEO of Unity Oil and Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Odotobri Rural Bank, Ahomkah Beverages Limited, Boafo Herbal Centre, Tabea Herbal Centre and End-Point Homeopathic Clinic.
