New Political Party Hits Road

AHEAD OF the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, which is two years and some few months away, a new political party has been formed.

Christened the Action People’s Party (APP), the new political party has been certified by the Electoral Commission (EC) to operate in the country.

“The EC has since September 6, 2022 presented the newly formed Action Peoples Party (APP) with a Provisional Certificate of registration,” a credible source has hinted.

Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE said Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah, who hails from Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, is APP’s founder and leader.

The APP founder is reported to have since gone back to Canada, where he is based, after submitting the necessary paper works for the EC to certify the APP.

Further checks made by the paper indicated that the APP leadership has acquired a new office in Kumasi to manage their daily activities.

DAILY GUIDE also learnt that though the newly-formed political party would be headquartered in Kumasi, it is currently operating in Accra.

Interestingly, the formation of new political parties when presidential and parliamentary elections are drawing near in the country has become synonymous with Kumasi.

People like Akwasi Addai Odike, United Progressive Party (UPP), Kofi Akpaloo, Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), and Akua Donkor, Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) were all formed in Kumasi.
