The turbanning ceremony, which took place at the Zabrama Line Stop, near Dansoman, Accra had the National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu officiating.

It was a colourful gathering of important personalities from both the Zongo and other communities from the previous government and the current one.

The new chief is a businessman and proprietor of Bona Oil regarded by many, whose lives he touched as a humanitarian.

The Council of Muslim Chiefs, in its citation under its President Alhaji Abdul Kadir Tahir, commended him for his immense contributions towards the people of the Zongo communities.

“As the Council awards you we continue to appreciate your significant contribution to the success and wellbeing of the Muslims in Awutu Senya East Municipality,” he said.

The Council described him as a role model in the Zongo communities, the basis for the citation from it to him.

The Council charged him to continue the good works of his father when he was alive.

On his part, he promised to emulate the good works of his father and would require the support of all to achieve his goal of serving his community and others outside it.
