Some persons who bought tickets for DKB’s annual comedy show, ‘New Year Comedy Night’, got their monies refunded for not having access to the show.
The event, which was held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on January 1, 2020, attracted huge numbers such that the auditorium could not contain every one.
This left some patrons stranded. However, they got their monies refunded by organisers.
“There was an overflow and we had to refund some monies to people who couldn’t be part of the show. I was expecting a full house, what I wasn’t expecting was that many people outside the show and that number can fill the auditorium for a second show. I was humbled when I heard that number. It was a statement of how far Ghana comedy has come,” DKB said in an apologetic statement to the patrons.
The New Year Comedy Night is the second of its kind. DKB, OB Amponsah, Lekzy DeComic, Comedian Waris, MjTheComedian, PJay and Ranzy were some of the comedians who treated their fans to rib cracking jokes, leaving them gasping for breath after each act.
The hosts for the night was the versatile entertainer Clemento Suarez and the beautiful Matilda Hipsy. There were also music performances from Keche and Mr. Drew. The show was sponsored by Kasapreko and supported by Infinix mobile.
