NIB Gives Medical Equipment To Southern Command

The National Investment Bank (NIB) has presented medical equipment to the Southern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at Kpeshie, near Accra.

The equipment, valued at about GH¢87,000.00, are to be used at the Kpeshie Medical Facility of the Command.

They include an Urit 300 Haematology and Mind Ray Chemistry Analysers.

The Analysers were donated together with a computer and an accompanying UPS.

Head of Corporate Affairs at NIB, Charles Wordey, who presented the items on behalf of management of the bank, said NIB places importance on improving healthcare delivery in the country.

He affirmed the continuous support of such initiatives to improve the health of citizens.

Mr. Wordey said the bank has been collaborating with the Ghana Armed Forces in matters of security and expressed the hope that the existing relationship between the two institutions would further deepen.

General Commanding Officer (GCO) of the Southern Command, Brigadier General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, lauded NIB for the gesture, and said the equipment would immensely help the medical facility, which lacks basic medical equipment to ensure its proper functioning.

Brigadier General Oppong-Peprah promised to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment.

The health facility serves both the Armed Forces and civilians living in Teshie and its environs.
