Nestle Nido has presented cash prizes to the first batch of winners in its ‘Back to School’ promotion at a short ceremony in Accra.

The winners Deborah Ankabah, Ebenezer Nii Ankrah, Bediako Asare Winifred and George Kwabena Abrokwa each received GH¢1,000 to support their children’s education.

Speaking at the award ceremony held at the Rawlings Park, Accra Central, Category Development Manager for Diary at Nestle Ghana, Edwin Amoako, said Nestle is committed to encouraging healthy diets and lifestyles through its annual ‘Back to school’ initiative.

He however indicated that Nestle has moved the campaign a notch higher by giving mothers the opportunity to text special codes in the Nestle Nido Promo sachet and win scholarships for their children.

“This time around we have taken it a notch higher. We have moved it and made participation digital so now everyone who buys the special promo pack only has to text the unique code inside the package to the short code 1929 and accumulate points and every day the highest texter wins GH¢1000.

Five other people got consolation prizes and then by December when we bring the promotion to an end the highest texter during the period is going to win GH¢10,000. Second and third prize winners will take GH¢7,000 and GH¢5,000 respectively,” he said.

“We encourage them and make them understand that this money is really for the future of their children, and we are not only giving them the best nutrition for their children but we want them to invest in their future through education, Mr. Amoako indicated.

The Nido Back to School Promotion is being organized under the supervision of the Gaming Commission.

Winners will be electronically selected on the basis of the first number with the highest number of accumulated points for the day.

A total of GH¢157,000 worth of prizes will be provided throughout the promotion.

Nido is committed to encouraging individuals and families to win scholarships for their children.

The Nido Back to School promotion was launched in September, this year.
