Information Technology (IT) education centre, NIIT OpenLabs, has won the ‘Best IT Training and Consulting Company of the Year’ award at the 2020 Ghana Business Awards.
This is the second time NIIT OpenLabs has been recognised as a leader in IT training in the country.
NIIT OpenLabs Director and Business Head, Sujith Jayaprakash, commenting on the award said, “It is exciting, as a team, we are all energised and motivated by this award.”
He said this year’s award points to the fact that NIIT OpenLabs is the most trusted brand in the IT training and consulting sector.
“This year marks the 20th anniversary of NIIT OpenLabs, so we feel like there is greater responsibility on us and being the best IT school, we need to keep the title for the next few years, so we have to put up tremendous effort as a team,” he noted.
The centre recently launched a scholarship scheme for graduates of selected senior high schools in the country to learn topics like programming for beginners, graphic design, introduction to database and web development through its online platform.
Mr. Jayaprakash indicated that although the WASSCE results are not yet out, interested students can still take an online scholarship exam which will give them up to 40 per cent discount for the programmes they choose to study.
“For BECE students, we have also come up with some innovative programmes like certificate in robotics, software and hardware, and basic office 2016 which they can complete in a one month programme so they can have a certificate in hand which will give them an added advantage,” he said.
He reiterated his appreciation to the students, alumni and trainers at the centre saying, the award would not have been possible without them.
“On behalf of the chairman of our governing council, I would gladly like to inform that NIIT OpenLabs will continue serving the community with its online and blended training programmes in latest technologies which will be in line with the market demand.
“We also take this opportunity to congratulate all the WASSCE students, and for those who are aspiring to become IT professionals, NIIT OpenLabs is the place to be,” he added.
