No One Can Stop Me – Mz Dru

Mz Dru

Mz Dru, a UK-based Ghanaian TV & radio personality, is the latest promising on-air personality to watch out for in Ghana’s showbiz and media space.

Several years after plying her trade in the UK, the beautiful young lady has moved to Ghana to continue doing what she enjoys doing best.

She told NEWS-ONE on Sunday that relocating to Ghana was a very difficult decision, but she is happy she is here to stay and no one can stop her. She is currently enjoying her stay and hopes it continues.

“I have already made my decision I am here to stay because things are working… so it seems like yes Dru is here to stay. I am the new kid on the block baby,” she stated.

Described as very hard working, Dru holds the assertion that one must hustle until he or she no longer has to introduce his or herself.

She currently hosts Live From The Capital on Fridays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Rythmz on GHone TV, also on Fridays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. She is also the new face on the Rythmz Video Comedown on Saturdays from 3:00pm to 3:30pm.

Dru’s unique flare and voice do not only make her different but also outstanding as an on-air personality.

Mz Dru, born Drusilla Lartey, is of Ghanaian and Jamaican descent. She was born in London but raised in North West London. Coming from an area in London with so many different reviews, Mz Dru decided to push through the stereotypes and chase her dreams of becoming a radio/ TV presenter and voice-over artiste with the hope that her story will be able to one day inspire and empower young girls like her to never give up on their own dreams but continue to stay true to themselves.

Mz Dru’s mission is to empower people through her work and demonstrate that creativity is still a requirement for success, and she’s only just getting started.

She has, as a result, been studying media for over seven years and after receiving her bachelor’s honours in Media Communications at DE Montfort University, she decided to make sure the world know her name.

She started interning at a radio station called Bang Radio and after a few weeks of making the world hear about her unique voice and bubbly personality, she was given her first drive time slot as a co-host.

Mz Dru has been presenting on radio for five years, starting at Bang Radio, now known as the Beat London, then moved to Pulse 88. Alongside radio, she has hosted a number of live events such as Miss Ghana UK, Miss Pride of Africa, Ghana Music Awards UK and Black Women In Business Awards.

She is the resident host for Soulfull Café and has done a lot of red carpet events, as well as baby showers, weddings, music events and discussion panels.

“I first came to Ghana from November to April. This was just the beginning and it was interesting. I think my personality opens doors for me. So I met Antoine Mensah and he gave me opportunity to be on his show,” she disclosed about how her journey in the Ghanaian media started.
