‘No Tension In Zabarma Community’

Chief AlhajiMusahYahayaYandu, President of the National Council of Zabarma Chiefs, who is also the Deputy Organiser of the Council ofZongo Chiefs in the country, will host a national durbar at KawuKudi in Accra on November 21, 2020.

The durbar, the first of its kind by members of the ethnic grouping in the country, according to the chief who is also the Zabarma Chief of the Greater Accra Region,is intended to introduce members of his cabinet who would serve as his advisers.

The occasion would also be used to inaugurate the National Council of Zabarma Chiefs.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occassion are the Vice-President or his representatives, the National Chief Imam, the OsuMantse, The Greater Accra Regional Minister and important dignitaries in the Zongo community. Also expected is the President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs.

Chief Yandu is expected to use the occasion to call for unity and prayers for the country’s progress.

He denied a report that the occasion is intended to swear in some chiefs.

“There is no tension in the Zabarma community. We are responsible citizens and the gathering would serve as an important platform to preach peace ahead of the elections. With elections around the corner, I call on my people and others to let Ghana be first in their undertakings and to shun any activity that would compromise the peace we are enjoying in the country,” he said.

He also called on members of his community to draw the attention of the security agents to potential source of insecurity.

The theme for the programme is, ‘Unifying The Zabarma Chiefs For Liberation And Empowerment In Ghana For National Development’.
