The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it has completed its final delegates’ register ahead of the party’s National officers election scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi.
Chairman of the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), Frederick Opare Ansah, who announced this at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra following engagements with aspirants and their representatives, said the final delegates’ register will be available for collection by aspirants or their authorised representatives from Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Mr. Opare Ansah also announced the establishment of an online verification facility to enable delegates to check their eligibility ahead of the conference adding that delegates are required to visit the NPP’s official website, click on “Verification” on the navigation bar, enter their phone or Voter ID number to receive a One-Time Password (OTP).
He said after entering the OTP, delegates will be able to verify their eligibility and prompted accordingly if information provided do not correspond with the person’s records.
According to the chairman, the meeting with the aspirants and their representatives also provided an opportunity for the NOEC to brief them on the final rules, regulations, guidelines and operational arrangements for the elections as well as outstanding matters requiring clarification ahead of the conference.
The committee stated that all eligible youth delegates will vote in the election of the National Youth Organiser, in addition to the other elections in which they are entitled to participate while all female delegates will vote in the election of the National Women’s Organiser, in addition to the other elections they are entitled to participate.
He stated that as part of measures to ensure transparency and provide aspirants with appropriate representation at critical stages of the electoral process, aspirants have been requested to submit the names of their printing agents, photographs of polling agents to enable the necessary identification, accreditation and access arrangements to be completed ahead of election day.
Mr. Opare Ansah who confirmed that proxy voting will be permitted for the election said a detailed proxy voting framework has been developed to govern eligibility, applications, verification, approval and the eventual exercise of proxy votes sating that it will be assisted by the secretary of the committee who will directly oversee the administration and implementation of the proxy voting framework.
The committee noted that it will publish the final proxy register on September 27, 2026 and therefore urged delegates who intend to use the proxy arrangement to comply strictly with the published guidelines and timelines indicating that for the election of the three National Vice-Chairpersons, each delegate will be required to select three aspirants.
The committee mentioned that the elections will be conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) under the supervision of the NOEC and in accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines issued by the committee and further assured that it will continue to work closely with the EC and the Ghana Police Service on arrangements to ensure an orderly, secure and transparent electoral process.
Mr. Opare Ansah said the conference will commence promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 and therefore appealed to all delegates to comply with the arrival and transportation arrangements which will be communicated to them.
