THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders has announced the election of officers to steer the affairs of the Council.

This is in line with Article 16 (1) of the party’s constitution.

In a letter to the National Chairman, signed by C.K. Tedam, Chairman of the Council of Elders, the Council explained that “in accordance with Article 16 (1) of the NPP’s Constitution, members agreed, during the General Meeting of the Council of Elders on January 17, 2019, to the formation of an Executive Committee to oversee the running of the Council.”

Mr. Tedam is chairing the newly constituted Executive Committee, with Board Chairman of Ghana Cocoa Board, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, serving as the vice chairman.

The Executive Committee, according to the letter sighted by DAILY GUIDE, also has Alhaji Yiremia as member; Mary Nartey as treasurer and Professor Wayo Seini as its secretary.

The Council pointed out that a Finance Committee has also been constituted and is chaired by Amadu Kaleem.

In addition to the Finance and Executive Committees, the Council has equally constituted the party’s Complaints Committee headed by Sekyi Hughes and Disputes Committee chaired by Agnes Okudzeto.

In the letter, the Council of Elders indicated that “this, it was believed, will bring new dynamism to the activities of the Council,” adding that “it is our fervent hope that the elections of these people will strengthen the Council as it strives to help the party to achieve its aims and objectives.”
