The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to discuss pressing issues ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Botsio Hall, Alisa Hotel, is expected to address issues relating the filing of Presidential and parliamentary nomination forms, as well as the recent disruption in the Walewale constituency.
According to a notice signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the meeting has been called at the behest of the National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim.
The NEC meeting is expected to bring together top party officials to discuss strategies and make key decisions on the way forward.
The Party Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Parliamentary Candidates on Monday filed their nominations papers across the country.
The NEC meeting is also expected to discuss the process and ensure that everything is in place for a smooth filing process.
The Walewale issue is another critical matter that requires attention.
The recent disruption in the constituency, which led to the destruction of ballot papers and the arrest of a suspect, has raised concerns about the party’s chances in the area.
The NEC meeting is expected to discuss the issue and find ways to address it.
