Members of Premier Ladies, a wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), have adopted some 30 constituencies in the country to help them increase their vote margins in the upcoming general election.

The ladies are intensifying their campaigns in constituencies like Tema West, Abetifi, Sene West, Ningo-Prampram, Ledzokuku, Ejisu, Jomoro, among others.

This was made known when patrons of the group donated some items worth GH¢63,000, including streetlights, to improve security during the night and PPE to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic in the Tema West Constituency.

Presenting the items, the Founder of the group, Dr. Nana Kyei Baffour, said they wanted to motivate the parliamentary candidates in all the adopted constituencies to work harder to ensure the party retains both the parliamentary and presidential seats.

He urged the candidates to do everything within their power “to knock on doors and also visit markets to ensure the NPP wins the December polls.”

Receiving the items, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema West Constituency, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, assured them that he was committed to retaining the seat for the party and he would work hard to widen the vote margin in the 2020 polls.

Mr. Ahenkorah said the government had done well for the nearly four years that it had been in power and appealed to the electorate to retain the NPP in December.

“President Akufo-Addo and his team will continue to roll out the needed policies that will improve lives and communities. The President has done a lot for Tema West and the country as a whole and there is the need to retain him in power,” the MP pointed out, adding that the commitment of government is to develop the human resource base of this country.

The Coordinator of the group, Esther Oratia Annan, said they were committed to ensuring the NPP wins massively in December.
