Justin Kodua Frimpong
The Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has submitted its report to the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
According to reports, the committee spent over an hour in closed-door meeting before submitting the report.
Some 10 aspirants who filed their nominations underwent vetting from Monday, July 3 to Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The vetting was conducted by the Prof Mike Oquaye Committee, with former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen being the first to face the committee.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Energy expert Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku followed in that order on the first day of vetting.
The others took their turns until Thursday, July 6, when former Mampong Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Addai-Nimoh was vetted.
The results of the vetting are scheduled to be published on Friday, July 21, ahead of balloting on Monday, July 24.
Upon receiving of the report, the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, expressed appreciation to the committee for their effort and assured the public of the party’s commitment to ensuring a free, fair, peaceful, and transparent election process.
