The Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.

According to him, the NPP’s victory in the upcoming elections is certain, adding, “Whether the opposition NDC likes it or not, the NPP will win the upcoming general election.”

Speaking at the inauguration of the 2024 Campaign Committee of the NPP in the Takoradi Constituency yesterday, the MP who doubles as the Western Regional Minister noted that the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will beat National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s John Mahama in the presidential election.

“John Mahama is still incompetent. If Ghanaians make a mistake and vote for him, he will not be accountable to anyone because he would have only one term,” he asserted.

He said, even as Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been solving the country’s problems, and added that he would be one of the best presidents of Ghana.

He pointed out that the NPP is the only political party that cares for the wellbeing of Ghanaians, hence, the introduction of various social interventions.

The Takoradi MP revealed that the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy of the current government has helped to increase the student population from 13,000 to over 600,000.

He said the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, was instrumental in the construction of the headquarters of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) in Takoradi, which is in fulfillment of a promise the NPP made to the Takoradi residents.

“The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to officially open the GNPC headquarters in Takoradi on August 19, 2024,” he revealed.

He pointed out that the Tarkwa road, which was very deplorable, has now been fixed, and added that very soon the President will commission the road.

Deputy National Communications Director, Asiedu Kokro, called on the party supporters in the constituency to rally behind the MP and the party to win massively for the NPP.
