Nyantakyi’s Dormaa Palace Presence Stoke Altercation

Kwesi Nyantakyi

A chaotic scene characterized the visit by Kwesi Nyantakyi, former GFA president, Wilfred Osei Palmer and their team at the Dormaa Ahenkro Chief’s Palace.

The visit was to seek Dormaa chief, Nana Agyeman Badu’s blessings and to discuss other football related issues.

And indications are that, the scuffle was due to the presence of ex-GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, in the entourage.
In a video intercepted by this paper, the beleaguered former GFA chief was seen quietly standing by a red pick-up used by the entourage.

One of the campaign officers, Kofi Manu also known as ‘Blue Boy’, was also captured engaging the guards in a heated argument.

The guards could be heard questioning Nyantakyi’s appearance at the palace to see the chief, Nana Agyemang Badu, over football issues, due to the fact that the latter faces FIFA life ban over football related activities

Nana Agyemang Badu, owner of Aduana Stars FC, is an influential football figure in the Bono and Ahafo areas due to his well-known investment and patronage of grassroots football.

Later, the team called on Takyimanhene and Dr Kwame Kyei, Asante Kotoko boss.

The visit was part of their campaigning programs for the GFA presidential elections having reached a higher gear, following the conclusion of filing forms last Friday.

The election is scheduled for October 25.

Meanwhile, FIFA has handed a life ban on Nyantakyi, on all football related activities, after a documentary which captured him in various forms of misconducts.
