The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has distributed 1,412 bags of cement and 1,235 iron rods to its Assembly Members to support the execution of community-based development projects across the municipality.

The items, received by all 19 elected Assembly Members, are to enable them initiate new projects or complete ongoing ones in their respective electoral areas. The support, captured in the Assembly’s 2025 Budget, is also aimed at reviving stalled projects and encouraging Members who are yet to undertake any development initiative to do so.

Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Faustilove Appiah-Kannin, said the donation forms part of her administration’s commitment to bringing development directly to the doorsteps of the people through the Assembly Members.

She stressed that the materials must be used strictly for their intended purposes for the benefit of the communities, warning that any diversion would not be tolerated.

Madam Appiah-Kannin also commended Assembly Members for their efforts in their various electoral areas, and urged them to continue working hard to advance the government’s development agenda at the grassroots level.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly Members, the Presiding Member, James Adabour, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the gesture. He assured the MCE and Management that the materials would be used judiciously and for their intended purposes, and thanked the MCE and her team for making the donation possible.
