Ofosu-Ampofo Reports Today

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, whose arrest last Tuesday at Cantonments in Accra trended on social media soon after he was picked, is expected at the CID headquarters today.

His appearance at the internal security headquarters is in fulfillment of his bail condition when he was arrested.

After refusing to honour the police invitation, the security agents secured an arrest warrant from the court to pick him up.

Many expected him to pass the night at the CID headquarters, but after grilling him when he was arrested, the police granted bail. One of the bail conditions was that he reports today at the police headquarters.

His arrest was preceded by efforts by NDC operatives to politicise the police action party lawyers, having earlier stated that he would not oblige the invitation to assist in investigations into the recent incidents of kidnappings and arson in the country to which he was linked.

For a man who was captured in an earlier leaked audio recording as alluding to kidnappings and other negative strategies at the disposal of the party in the run-up to the 2020 polls, it is unsurprising that the law enforcement agents would want to have a chat with him.
