The Police have begun investigating the suspected homicide of a 27-year-old commercial motorbike operator Abdulai Osah, popularly called Okada rider at Matsekope, near Sege in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region.

The lifeless body of the deceased, who left home on January 22, 2019, was found in a bush the next morning.

He is said to have been stabbed to death by unknown assailants, who reportedly took his motorbike after tying his hands.

The motorbike of the deceased, who resides at Bedeku, near Kasseh in the Ada East District is yet to be found, but the crush helmet was besides the body.

The body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra pending autopsy.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) George Aboagye, Commander of the Sege District Police Headquarters, said the investigation was ongoing.

He, therefore, called on residents to volunteer information which would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, adding that “police we will protect their identities.”

Police said investigators travelled to the crime scene to determine the cause of death.

Some Okada riders said he was last seen on the motorbike on Tuesday at 8:00pm.

Meanwhile, traditional authorities are collaborating with police to unravel circumstances that led to his death.
