Okyenhemaa Supports Covid-19 Fight

The Okyenhemaa, Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua, has donated some items to the Queenmothers of the Akyem-Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The items included Veronica buckets, tissue papers, hand sanitizers, washing soaps, face masks, surgical gloves, bags of rice, including other provisions.

These items are meant to be distributed to all the various communities in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area for onward distribution to medical facilities in the area.

Speaking to journalists at the forecourt of the Ofori Panin Fie at Kyebi, Nana Dokua, who is the President of the Regional Queenmothers Association, said the time had come for everybody to support the effort to kick the virus out of the country.

She said she had formed groups called “Brighten your corner” that had been tasked to educate residents on how to keep themselves and their environment clean.
