One person has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cosy Hills Hotel also known as Jirapa Dubai, in Jirapa in the Upper West Region.
The businessman’s lifeless body was reportedly discovered in a pool of blood in one of his hotel rooms on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
According to speculation, his death was the result of a local chieftaincy conflict.
The police said in a statement that the Upper West Regional Police Command had arrested one person on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
The statement called on the public to assist in giving reliable information to help police apprehend the offenders.
The statement further added that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Akuffo Dampare, has dispatched a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to collaborate with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure an in-depth investigation of the incident.
The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has since visited the scene of the incident.
