One More Dies From Apiate Explosion

 A 38-year-old father of three, Paul Asare, who got severely injured when the Apiate explosion occurred near Bogoso in the Western Region, has passed on.

This brings to 14, the number of people who died as a result of January 20, 2022 explosion.

Paul Asare died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Monday.

According to sources, Asare had his belly opened by the explosion, and was initially admitted at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital.

The sources had it that since he was discharged about two months ago, he has been visiting the health facility for review.

According to family members, the deceased fell unconscious after he complained of stomach upset, and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention on Friday, June 3, 2022, where he was admitted until his demise on Monday, June 6, 2022.

The deceased was survived by a wife and three children.

The Apiate Disaster Relief Committee has subsequently extended its condolences to the bereaved family and pledged to support them in the trying moments.
