OSP Arrests NEIP Boss

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, for allegedly disbursing state funds to delegates ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, who is a keen aspirant for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Asante Akim Central Constituency, was said to have shared thousands of cedis in addition to bags of rice and other consumables with party delegates as Christmas gifts, intended to persuade them to vote for him during the party’s parliamentary elections slated for January 27.

The NPP’s Asante Akim Central Constituency Secretary, Felix Amakye, in an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, said the sharing of money was brought to the attention of the Special Prosecutor by Nkansah’s rival for the Asante Akim Central parliamentary seat, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi.

Officials from the OSP stormed the NEIP headquarters yesterday, and surveyed the entire premises.

Supporters of Ofosu Nkansah, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, expressed their disappointment.

“It is very untrue for Ofosu Nkansah to steal state money intended to develop the country for his campaign financing. Yes, he shared money but that one was from his pocket,” one of the supporters stated.

Meanwhile, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi has refuted claims of reporting Kofi Ofosu Nkansah to the OSP.

“I have no clue about what the secretary is alleging. It is almost time for the elections and the primaries are still around the corner, and this is not a do-or-die affair.

“If you are talking about reporting anybody to the OSP, I have no idea, but he [Felix Amakye] is on record saying that my preferred candidate has been paying GH¢500,000 and promised to pay GH¢1 million to people, and he said these things on Facebook,” he told CitiNews.
