Otumfuo Solicits Support For Local Firms

The Asantehene joined by other dignitaries to cut the tape to GOIL’s new office complex

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged Ghanaians to support the indigenous companies to grow into conglomerates in order to guarantee jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

He said investing into Ghanaian companies would also make them compete fairly with multinational companies to ensure low prices of commodities.

Speaking at the commissioning of a new office complex for Goil Company Limited in Kumasi, the Asantehene said such support would go a long way to fight capital flight and its corresponding effects on the national economy.

The office complex, which has meeting rooms and other ancillary facilities including canteen, will accommodate the company’s staff of the middle belt and upper middle belt zones.

There is also a 24-hour security post, a cashier booth and firefighting equipment, making the office a standardized one.

Otumfuo praised the management of Goil for the hard work and transformation brought to the company.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Goil Osei Kwame Prempeh said the company had worked hard over the years to become the number one oil marketing company in the country with the contribution from its dealers.

“We intend to build on this feat and sustain the growth trajectory,” Mr Prempeh stated. Also, he assured customers of the commitment of Goil to serve them best of fuel to guarantee value for their money.

“We have already intensified our vigilance through the use of our mobile laboratory van to check the quality of our fuel and taken measures to guarantee the integrity of our products,” he said.
