Kwabena Manasseh, a former ‘fake prophet’ who claims he has now repented, has alleged one of the reasons gospel musician Obaapa Christy (Christian Love) divorced her ex-husband Pastor Love was that “he hired four men to rape her.”
Apologising to Christy Love for going public with the rape claims, Manasseh alleged that Pastor Love “did that to disgrace Christy so he can divorce her.”
He made the allegation on Monday evening on Net2’s The Seat, which is now dedicated to exposing fake men of God.
“Pastor Love is the reason why his ex-wife left him. Obaapa Christy, please forgive me because I have to say this. When Pastor Love made his mind that young girls were going to be his thing, his wife was completely out of the picture. So, he wanted a different person. He wanted a way to get out of the marriage but he couldn’t. So, he went to hire four men. He made his mind that he was going to Kumasi. So, the four men came to sleep with Christiana Love and took her ring. If he says I am lying, he should come out; I am ready to give my evidences to this man. Pastor Love planned that to disgrace the wife so he gets the chance to marry a different woman because he met another woman in Italy he wanted to marry,” he alleged.
However, Pastor Love denied the allegation in an interview with Hitz FM on Tuesday.
According to him, he will refer the matter to his lawyers for them to handle it.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach Obaapa Christy on Wednesday to respond to the allegation proved futile.
This is, however, the second time a rape case has been mentioned in connection with the nine-year marriage between Pastor Love and Obaapa Christy. None was, however, reported to the police.
Leading up to their divorce, both Christy and Pastor Love in 2011 publicly counter-accused each other of reckless adultery and unrestrained infidelity.
At the time, Obaapa Christy alleged on Adom FM that Pastor Love raped his sister.
“Pastor Love raped my younger sister who was staying with us. He threatened to kill the girl if she speaks the truth but she told my elder brother, Kwame, and he came for her and sent her to our hometown. Pastor Love later asked the girl not to speak the truth but she says she only kept quiet to save my marriage and my music career… My husband even started chasing our housemaid and even slept with her while we were still married,” she was quoted to have said.
