Paul Pogba Reportedly Passes Man Utd Medicals

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has passed his medical ahead of rejoining Manchester United for a record-breaking fee of €110m, according to reports.

The Frenchman flew into Manchester on Monday to be assessed at the club’s training complex in Carrington, as indicated by The Guardian.

The 23-year-old’s return to England brings an end to one of the summer’s most drawn out and high profile transfers, with Jose Mourinho not looking to add any more names to the Red Devils ahead of the new Premier League season.

Invariably some are jumping the gun on social media, but United are expected to unveil the capture of Pogba on Tuesday.

Pogba leaves Juventus for around £93m, winning four Serie A titles, two Copa Italias and two Italian Supercups in the process following his original departure from Old Trafford in 2012 on a free transfer.

Pogba endured a subdued Euro 2016 tournament as hosts France were beaten by Portugal 1-0 in the final, but his displays in Italy made him a wanted man by his former employers as well as Real Madrid.

And speaking after their 2-1 win over Leicester City in Sunday’s Community Shield, Mourinho was confident Pogba would be the last missing piece of the puzzle.

“I honestly don’t know the exact amount of money we have paid for Pogba, though if it is a new world record I don’t think we need to be sad about that,” he said.

“Real Madrid were not sad when they set a new record for Gareth Bale, they were proud. It is a lot of money of course but football is a crazy industry, and very often what seems expensive now does not seem so bad in three years or so.

“I know we are getting a very good player and I think United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be at.

“We want to bring Manchester United to the top again and if you want to be the best player in the world this is the club to join.

“We have everything to offer him and he is coming because he knows the club and the city and he wants to be a part of the Manchester United project.”
