Pink October Golf Supports Korle Bu Again

The Pink October Golf Tournament and fundraiser has yet again assisted the Cancer Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital with a special donation.

The Pink October Golf Tournament is an Achimota Golf Club ladies initiative to assist the Breast Cancer Awareness and support the Breast Cancer Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The fundraising yielded over GH¢180,000 to help the lady golfers source the equipment for the Cancer Unit.

Corporate sponsors and individuals gave overwhelmingly to purchase the equipment to assist doctors and nurses at the Breast Cancer Unit.

Paterson Simons & Co Africa Limited (Pasico) and its partner Konecranes, singularly purchased the ultrasound scanner and rallied behind the initiative.

Other companies that followed greatly were KEK Insurance Brokers, KEK Re, Kwesiakuma Foundation, Star Assurance, GNRE Stellar Logistics/Stellar Travel, Crocodile Matchet, Ayoub Ghandour Perfumery, Ozone, Vasties, Meprolim Gh Ltd, La Villa Aphro, Travel Paddy, Tekled Ghana, and individual golfers collectively purchased the remaining equipment.

World Health Organisation, Sunlodge Hotel, Caveman and Voltic, supported with logistics for the day.

“We are most grateful to all of them, for such corporate responsibility and kindness towards civil society. We pray for increase in their various organisations,” said Elizabeth Essel Koomson, Lady Captain, Achimota Golf Club.
