Following a robbery incident in front of two victims’ residence at East Legon in Accra, the police have arrested suspect Isaac Brena Eshun, 30, on August 21, 2024.
On August 19, 2024, the police swung into action with an investigation into the robbery incident in which the robbers dispossessed the victims of a Mercedes Benz C180 saloon car at gunpoint, two iPhones, AirPods and an unspecified amount of money in front of their residence.
The police have retrieved from the suspect one iPhone 13 Pro Max which belongs to one of the victims and a Samsung Galaxy A15.
The suspect told the police that a certain Peter Amuzu aka Master Pee, 47, an ex-convict, who was jailed for a similar offence and recently released from Nsawam Prisons, was his accomplice.
Suspect Peter Amuzu was arrested on August 23, 2024 at his hideout in East Legon, and an iPhone 12 Pro Max mobile phone, which also belongs to one of the victims was recovered from him.
During interrogation, the two suspects informed police that the Mercedes Benz vehicle has been sold by them to one Ibrahim Mohammed aka King Dawa aka Alhaji Mike, 32, in Tamale.
On August 24, 2024, the receiver of the stolen item, Ibrahim Mohammed, was arrested in Tamale.
The Mercedes Benz was recovered in addition to three other vehicles, a Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Vitz and another Toyota brand.
The police are continuing investigations into the case even as they assure the public “that such criminals will not be given any space to disturb the peace and security of our beloved country.”
