Police Grab 792 Bikes In 3 Days

THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command have impounded a staggering 792 motorbikes in just three days.

This follows a major swoop conducted by the police in the 15 police divisions in the region from Saturday, September 25 to Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Those that would fail to produce the documents covering their motorbikes would be prosecuted, according to the police.

The move, among other things, seeks to reduce crime, ensure decency on the roads and reduce road crashes.

The Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said police are determined in the fight against crime, particularly those using motorbikes to commit robbery.

He assured that the police in the region would not relent in their efforts to reduce crime, and urged the public to collaborate effectively with the police to help rid the region of criminals.

He said modern policing is a shared responsibility and the police will continue to partner the public to protect the country.
