Police Hunt For Christ Embassy Pastor Over Death Threats

Pastor Ernest Omoleme

The Ashaiman Police are on the heels of the Zonal Pastor of Christ Embassy Church in Nungua, Pastor Ernest Omoleme, who allegedly threatened to kill the caretaker of Believers’ Salvation Ministry at Ashaiman over a parcel of land.

The pastor, whose office is located at Nungua in Accra, was said to have ordered a member of his church to assault Charles Anarfi Oppong, Secretary of Believers Salvation Ministry.

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that Pastor Omoleme took the action after all efforts to convince Believers’ Salvation Ministry to sell its land to his church for expansion failed.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) George Antwi Tandoh, Crime Officer of Ashaiman District Police, who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, narrated that both churches have property located at Community 22 Annex in Ashaiman with common boundary.

He explained that the Ashaiman Police invited the two churches for a meeting to settle the boundary dispute but the elders of Christ Embassy failed to honour the invitation.

ASP Tandoh pointed out that on August 28, 2018, some members of Christ Embassy, led by the suspect, fixed a metal gate at the entrance of Believers’ Salvation Ministry to prevent the congregants from entering the premises.

The caretaker at the Believers’ Ministry approached them and asked them why they were blocking the entrance to the church.

Pastor Omoleme, the Crime Officer said, became furious and threatened to kill the caretaker.

He added that for fear of losing his life, the caretaker immediately informed the Secretary of Believer Salvation, who subsequently demanded answers from them.

During the melee, a member of Christ Embassy assaulted the secretary and tore his dress.

A report was lodged with the Community 22 Police, which issued a medical form to the victim to attend hospital.

The police later stormed Pastor Omoleme’s office to invite him to the station to assist with investigations but he stated categorically that he would not travel to the police station.

“He humiliated the police officer I sent to invite him and even took video of him.

Meanwhile, DAILY GUIDE has learnt that summons have been served on the pastor to appear before court.
