The Ghana Police Service has identified Salifu Amoako as the driver involved in a recent car crash in East Legon that claimed two lives.
The accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, when a 4×4 Acura and a Jaguar collided in the upscale neighbourhood. A catastrophic fire engulfed both vehicles.
According to the police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that Salifu Amoako, reportedly the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, rammed his vehicle into another on Dzanie Ashie Street in East Legon.
The police have commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident.
“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into an accident that occurred on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at East Legon in Accra, leading to the death of two persons,” the statement read.
The suspect driver and other surviving victims are receiving medical attention.
One surviving victim has been treated and discharged, while the bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
