Police Warns Adwumakase Kese Youth Over Violence

ASP Godwin Ahianyo

THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command has sternly warned the youth of Adwumakase Kese to rescind their decision of violently attacking the people of Bomfa, in their own interest.

According to the police, they have credible information that some Adwumakase Kese youth were illegally planning to attack their colleagues at Bomfa, all in the Affigya Kwabre South District.

The police have reminded the youth of Adwumakase Kese that it was criminal for them to threaten the people of Bomfa with harm or death; therefore they should rescind their decision or else be arrested to face the law.

“It has come to the attention of the Ashanti Regional Police Command that some youth in Adwumakase Kese are planning to wage war, amidst threats of harm and death against the people of Bomfa.

“Threatening to cause harm or death is criminal so the youth of Adwumakase Kese are strongly warned to refrain from that,” ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO declared.

In a statement released to the media on Wednesday, ASP Ahianyo said the police were combat ready, therefore they would quickly apprehend anybody or group that would try to create insecurity and tension in Bomfa.

“The command, by this release, is extending a strong warning to those behind the planned attacks to rethink and rescind their decision, because any person arrested will not be spared,” the police PRO said.

According to ASP Ahianyo, the police have met with the chiefs of Adwumakase Kese and Bomfa, and the two traditional leaders have pledged to work to ensure peace in the area.

The police have also admonished the media to also refrain from causing panic and tension in the area with their reportage, saying the media should be circumspect with their reports to ensure peace in the area.
