Prempeh College Targets International Titles

THE PREMPEH College in Kumasi, one of the prestigious senior high schools (SHS) in the country, is targeting more international academic titles after the college emerged as the 2020 Robofest (Robotics) Online World Champions.

Prempeh College presented three teams to compete for top honours in the highly competitive contest after which the college grabbed first, third and fifth positions.

The Headmaster of Prempeh College, Aaron Attua Gyau, at a colourful ceremony dubbed the ‘Celebration of Trophies’ during which Prempeh College displayed the 2020 Robofest (Robotics) Online World Championship trophies to the public, said the school is targeting to remain number one in the Robofest contest.

“Prempeh College is targeting to defend this enviable title and also win it again in the future competitions,” he said.

Mr. Gyau stated that Prempeh College has enviable record of always excelling in the academic field, stressing that his administration is determined to work assiduously to help sustain the school’s performance.

The Headmaster admonished SHS students in the country to abstain from all social vices and rather dedicate their time and energy to studies so that they would grow to become influential people in the society.

Snr. Dr. Kwadwo Addo Kuffuor, President of Prempeh College 1984 Year Group, which was the sponsors of the event, urged other old students of the college to also assist the school to enable it win more laurels for the state.

Ing. Michael Wilson, a representative of Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation, said technology in particular, robotics, would shape the future of the world and therefore called for more attention to be given to the field in the country.
