Prof. Edmund Delle, the immediate past Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and renowned medical practitioner, is now the Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area in the Upper West Region.
He has accordingly been inducted into the Upper West House of Chiefs.
Now Naa Prof. Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, he was enskinned recently following which his traditional status was gazetted.
According to a press release on the subject and signed by Chiir Benni Gyimah Head of Family, he was duly nominated on April 11, 2019, selected and enskinned in conformity “with
laid down customs, traditions and usages by the Elders and Kingmakers led by the then Head of the Gbullu Chiir Royal Family of Nandom, Alhaji Issifu Botug Benni.”
In furtherance of the process, Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle as known in private life was given the traditional title name of Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII. He then went into confinement as part of the traditional enskinment process.
The Nandom Traditional Council, which by law and usage oversees matters of chieftaincy and tradition in the area, according to the release “was duly informed and upon satisfying due process facilitated the commencement of his gazetting in accordance with laid down procedures of the Chieftaincy Act.
He was inducted into the Upper West House of Chiefs on April 19, 2022.
Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII succeeded the late Naa Dr. Puoure Puobe Chiir VII who was known in private life as Dr. Charles Imoru Puoure Puobe.
Naa Prof. Delle is the founder and owner of Rabito Clinic, with over 20 branches nationwide. He has over 45 years in medical practice.
