Public Applaud Shatta x MoMo Fest Collab

Shatta Wale. INSET: Crowd at the event

Stakeholders, particularly residents of Ho, have applauded Mobile Money Limited Ghana Festival (MoMo Fest) and ShattaFest organisers for delivering a seamless edition of this year’s festival.

The collaboration brought together two major crowd-pullers — ShattaFest and MoMo Fest — blending pure entertainment with fintech vibes in the Volta Regional capital.

ShattaFest, the brainchild of dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale, has grown into one of Ghana’s most hyped fan experiences. Every edition pulls thousands of SM faithful who show up to party hard and celebrate Shatta Wale’s influence on Ghana’s dancehall culture.

The festival continues to prove how powerful an artiste’s community can be in creating a large-scale entertainment movement.

MoMo Fest, on the other hand, brought a different flavour. Powered by Mobile Money Limited Ghana, the festival fuses music with financial technology and customer engagement — using performances and interactive experiences to connect with customers while pushing the use of MTN MoMo services and the app.

While ShattaFest thrives on raw music energy and artiste-fan connection, MoMo Fest shows how entertainment can be leveraged for corporate marketing and digital financial inclusion. Both festivals, however, have one thing in common — they attract the youth.

The Gen Z and Millennial crowd that lives for live events, social media buzz, and digital trends. Industry watchers say the growing popularity of such events is a major win for Ghana’s creative economy — boosting opportunities in music, event management, marketing, hospitality, and more.

They also note that with young audiences flocking to such events, organisers must ensure safe, well-managed environments for fans to enjoy themselves. With the entertainment industry becoming increasingly commercialised, the ShattaFest x MoMo Fest link-up proves that music is no longer just entertainment — it’s a powerful tool for audience engagement, brand connection, and economic activity.
