Mr. Robert Batong Hor cutting his birthday cake with the orphans
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of R.B.H. Group of Companies, Robert Batong Hor, on Saturday donated items including stationery, food stuffs, electronic appliances among others, to the Power of Love Orphanage at Gbetsile, Michel Camp.
He described the gesture as a necessary part of any success story. According to him, his life story was evidence of the favour from God and, therefore, thought it wise to extend a helping hand to the less privileged on this special occasion as the two were very much related.
“It is always better not to forget where you are coming from. When I look at my life, where I have come from and the challenges I have faced, including the fact that God has led me to this point, I thought it necessary to give back to the society as a reminder of God’s favour,” he said in a press statement.
Founder and Manager of the Power of Love Orphanage, Madam Obaatanpa Amanda Mensah, was grateful for the donation and asked for more support to improve the facility. “We thank the Almighty God and Uncle Robert for choosing our home. Indeed, this act of kindness that you have shown to these young ones is going to be a memorial before God. Also, we are calling on other like-minded individuals and organisations to support us in expanding our building because the number of children here is increasing; we cannot turn our back on the children when they are here because this is our duty,” she said.
The rest of the items donated included, gas cylinders, detergents and cleaning items, mattresses, school bags, microwave ovens, blenders, fridge, kitchen utensils and electric kettles.
Mr. Robert Batong Hor is a Chartered Accountant with a 24-year varied working experience in Finance, Treasury, Accounting and Assurance with extensive experience in the oil industry, with names such as Mobil Oil Ghana Ltd, Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Chase Petroleum Ghana Limited and Springfield Energy. He now manages his own businesses under RBH Group namely Noblefield Oil Services, Odessa Apartmento, RBH Automotive and RBH Properties.
