Resurrect Black Stars Fighting Spirit – Kurt

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has expressed worry over Black Stars’ current uninspiring form.

The team’s disappointing start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers stirred the GFA chief to charge the players to play above themselves when they cross swords with Sudan in Accra today.

Ghana were stunned in their opener of the qualifiers; losing 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium and later drew 1-1 with Niger in Berkane, Morocco.

The shaky start leave the team at the third spot with just a point after two games.

And appealing to the team’s conscience ahead of their doubleheader against Sudan, the GFA president cautioned the players and urged them to show much aggression in their play.

Kurt said, “I hope this will be the last day I appear before all of you not only to appeal to your hearts but your conscience. The indomitable fighting spirit of the Black Stars has to be resurrected.”

He added, “The honeymoon period is gone. It’s time to show aggression, it’s time to show desire, it’s time to show the willingness to go the extra mile for Ghana.”

The Stars face their Sudanese counterparts (Falcons of Jediane) in the first leg of their doubleheader today.

They will later fly out to face same side in Libya on Monday, October 14.
