Rev Eddie Eyison
As part of his contribution towards the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, gospel artiste, Rev Eddie Eyison has released a song titled, ‘Corona Enkaebo’, to appeal to Ghanaians to follow all the guidelines enlisted by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) put in place to fight the disease.
Rev Eddie Eyison has consistently campaigned on his social media pages for Ghanaians to stay home ever since the government announced the measure as a means to control the spread of the virus.
The song which is currently being aired on some of the local radio stations in the capital does not only seek to entertain but to educate and sensitize Ghanaians on the need to observe the protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the Ministry of Information.
Some of the protocols mentioned in the song include regular hand washing with soap under running water, use of alcohol-based sanitizers, avoid shaking hands, social distancing among others.
The song, produced by Vinny Kay, has been made free for downloads, as a gift for music fans; but it will also be available on all digital platforms soon.
The video to promote the song has also been released and it is being aired by some selected television stations in the country.
The song featured gospel acts such as Abena Ruthy, Chief Collins, Teddy OT, Rev. Lenny Padie, TKC, Bright Appiah and Adeze.
In his song, the gospel artistes discuss the symptoms of the Covid-90 disease as well as talks about how the disease spreads and how Ghanaians can come together to conquer it.
In an interview with BEATWAVES, Rev. Eddie Eyison said the song was released to advice Ghanaians to comply with directives of experts and as well as seek the face of God.
He urged Ghanaians not to give up but fight on till the deadly disease was finally conquered.
He also called on his colleagues as well as stakeholders in the creative arts industry to join the campaign against the spread of the virus.
The gospel artiste appealed to Ghanaians as well as music fans to observe the social distancing protocol, while washing hands regularly under running water and sanitizing the hands.
He also assured that God would protect the nation according to His mercies and kindness and would not allow any evil thing to overwhelm His children.
He advised the government to roll out Covid-19 awareness and education in local languages.
