It was all joy and praises to God as pastors, family members and members of the Canada branch of the Assemblies of God Church converged at the auditorium of Evangel Assemblies of God, Toronto to celebrate the 30th anniversary celebration of Reverend Milton Offie.

Reverend Offie is the head pastor of Evangel Assemblies of God and currently the chairman of the Ghana Assemblies of God Fellowship, Canada.

He took over from Reverend Osei Amoah, and through his leadership had established ten branches of the church in Canada.

With melodious songs from the church choir and singing ministry, the church gave praise to God for the life of the man of God who is said to have touched the life of many, including non-members of the church.

Reverend Isaac De-Graft Takyi, pastor in charge of Living Foundation Assemblies of God, in a statement said sometimes, people do not really cherish what they have until it is taken away from them.

He described Rev. Offei as a man of God who stood his grounds with hard work and prayers to ensure that Assemblies of God Church gain root in Canada.

“Other pastors can confirm that pastoring in Africa is different from pastoring abroad since almighty Catholic Church and other big churches are even suffering here, but Rev. Offei stood his grounds and today, we can boldly count ten more churches in Canada,” he revealed.

He stated that Rev. Offei has been persistent, consistent, unshaking and dedicated to his call as minister of God, and still stands strong for the church in Canada.

In a speech, Rev. Milton Offie gave thanks to God for his 30 years of service in his vineyard.

He thanked his wife, Mrs. Margaret Akosua Konadu Offie, for her support and encouragement, and pastors and church leaders who assisted in his pastoral duties throughout the years.

Various gifts and donations were presented to Rev. Offei to mark the day.

The church board led by Deaconess Josephine Mensah presented a citation on behalf of the church in honour of Rev. Milton Offei.
