At least four persons believed to be church members of Reverend Obofour have met their untimely death with scores injured when their vehicle got involved in a fatal accident.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Esuehyia on the Ekumfi-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.
According to reports, the accident involved a passenger bus with registration number GT 6472-20 and a tipper truck.
The passenger bus was conveying church members from Takoradi to Accra when the driver, who was suspected to be speeding, crashed into the tipper truck which had been wrongly parked on the opposite side of the road.
An eyewitness who narrated the incident on Adom Fm explained that “This was in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with another passenger bus approaching from the opposite direction”.
The eyewitness indicated that the bus was badly damaged with broken glasses as well as the belongings of passengers scattered around the scene.
Meanwhile, the victims have been conveyed to the Apam Catholic Hospital, Saltpond for treatment. The bodies of the deceased have also been deposited at the same morgue pending autopsy.
A towing car was dispatched to remove and transfer the vehicle to the Esuhenyia Police Station.
