Highlife musician Rex Omar is set to release his second single titled ‘Highlife Agogo’ on Africa Union Day, which falls on Friday, May 25.
He described ‘Highlife Agogo’ as a danceable song which will meet the demand of Ghanaian music lovers.
Rex Omar, as a musician, represents originality. He always stands by the fact that being original will guarantee musicians long stay in the industry.
The quality of his music is exceptional, as witnessed in the number of songs he has to his credit.
Rex Omar’s trademark is danceable highlife grooves cast in the big band mould with exquisite arrangements.
His first single, ‘Nhyira’, a mid-tempo gospel flavoured tune, is enjoying nationwide airplay following a series of successful radio tours in some selected cities in the country.
Rex Omar is an award winning singer, songwriter and arranger and a one-time member of the trio, Nakorex.
He is currently chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and a member of the Joint Committee of Collective Management Organisations (JCCMOs).
His career spans over three decades and he continues to record, perform and mentor other musicians.
