Rider Electrocuted At Filling Station

The remains of the rider.

A MOTORBIKE rider believed to be in his late twenties met his untimely death at a fuel station at Nakomkope, a suburb of Sege in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region.

The yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcycle operator, commonly called Okada rider, was purportedly electrocuted while trying to serve himself a fuel at the fuel station at about 8:00pm on Monday, August 13, 2018.

In charge of a motorcycle with registration number GT 1639-M, he was said to have tried selling for himself fuel when the filling station attendants refused to serve him. He was asked to visit another fuel station.

According to a report, the fuel station attendants noticed that the fuel pump was having an electrical problem since that morning and started giving electrical shocks after a heavy downpour later that day hence they suspended service.

The remains of the rider are currently deposited at the Ada East District Hospital Morgue awaiting autopsy and identification from relatives.
