Robbers Attack Filling Station At Oyibi

Gunmen allegedly shot and wounded a private security man who was guarding a filling station at Oyibi in the Greater Accra Region.

According to police reports, the armed men who were about 6 in number, fired indiscriminately, and in the process the security man on duty was hit in his right arm and shoulder and was later sent to a health facility for treatment.

Confirming the incident to Daily Guide, DSP Efia Tenge, the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer said that at about 12:30am. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, the Oyibi Police had a report that some gunmen were trying to rob Alinko Filling Station at Oyibi.
She said a police team was dispatched to the scene, but by the time the team reached the filling station, the suspects had already fled.

“The police met with the supervisor in charge of the filling station, who indicated that she was in her office at the station, when gunmen numbering about 6, suddenly stormed the place and started firing indiscriminately. She continued, that “the hoodlums attempted to break into the Accounts office, but could not succeed, before fleeing.
“Police picked empty shells and live ammunitions from the scene and  It came to light that a private security man who was by then at a shop opposite the scene, was hit by a stray bullet on the right arm and shoulder.”

She added that police had begun investigation into the robbery attempt.
