Robbers Shoot Mobile Money Vendor

Two armed robbers have allegedly shot a Mobile Money vendor twice near African Touch Restaurant in Tamale.

The victim, Abukari Yussif, aged 31 was wounded on the right arm and was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

He was robbed of cash amounting to about GH¢ 2000 and an undisclosed quantity of scratch cards.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Yusif Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DGN Online , said the victim told police he was attacked by two armed men who arrived at his work place on a motorbike.

According to the police P.R.O, police visited the scene where five spent shells fired from an AK 47 rifle were retrieved.

He said investigations were on going and entreated the public to come forth with relevant information with the potential of aiding in the arrest of suspects.

DSP Tanko , appealed to all person who handle money at their work places to be wary of the dangers pose by criminals and be on the look out for same.
