Robert Kutin Retains C/R NPP Chair

Robert Kutin Jnr has won a second term as Central Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), beating rivals Joseph Kobina Essibu and Alfred George Kojo Thompson.

He won 237 of the votes in a one-off election to secure his victory as against 195 votes obtained by his closest contender, Kobina Essibu, who lost to him in the previous election of the party, while Kojo Thompson came third.

Percy Dennis Quaicoe secured the First Vice Chairmanship slot with 227 votes whereas the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Michael Essuman Mensah won the Second Vice Chairmanship position with 219 votes.

The incumbent Regional Secretary, Richard Takyi-Mensah was also re-elected with 279 votes, beating competitions from Armstrong Esaah who bagged 207 votes.

A new entrant, Charles Kojo Odoom won the Assistant Secretary position after polling 189 votes as against 184 votes secured by Kweku Nyarkoh-Koomson and 62 votes won by Emmanuel Oduro Ansah.

The Treasurer went to Francis Asare, who polled 175 votes to beat contenders Faustina Baah’s 133 votes, Michael Kyeremateng’s 95 votes, and Kwesi Eyi Acquah’s 42 votes.

Anthony Kwesi Sackey won the Organiser position with 299 votes as against 147 votes of Francis Ejaku Donkoh, while the Women’s Organizer position went to Charlotte Adwoa Antwi after she secured 231 votes to shred off competition from Sarah Afful (186 votes) and Agnes Owusu.

The Youth Organiser was won by Kenneth Quansah after bagging 249 votes against Samuel Annobil Baidoo’s 197 votes, and Abubakar Osuman retained the Nasara Coordinator post with 245 votes to beat Djagaba King Safianu, who obtained 201 votes.
