Rocky Dawuni Grabs 2022 Grammys Nomination

Ghanaian reggae icon, Rocky Dawuni has been nominated for the 64th edition of the global award ceremony, the Grammys which takes place next year.

The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for awards show during its second-annual virtual livestream event on Tuesday morning from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

Rocky Dawuni was nominated for the Best Global Music Album category with his “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1”.

He is competing in the category with the likes of Daniel Ho & Friends, Angélique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Wizkid.

It is Rocky’s second Grammy nomination after his sixth studio album titled Branches of The Same Tree was nominated for Grammys Best Reggae Album in December 2015 for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

Rocky Dawuni is best known around the world as a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and record producer who performs his signature ‘Afro Roots’ sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife and Soul music.

He has over the years been making Ghana proud on world music platforms. The 2022 Grammys nomination is yet another proud moment for his country.
